Inspired by the classic tale of Alice in Wonderland, WITCHWISH reimagines the story through a lens of emo-pop-punk influences and Victorian-era themes. The result is a track that resonates with the raw emotion and nostalgia of the 2000s while offering a modern perspective on themes of love, pain, and personal transformation.

Written, composed, and recorded entirely in Stefano’s home studio, “Alice” is a testament to his independent artistry. With only a few friends lending their voices to the choirs and solo, the track showcases Stefano’s hands-on approach and his passion for storytelling.

Stefano Tarroni opens up about the inspirations, challenges, and creative process behind his new solo project, WITCHWISH. Known for his versatility as a singer, composer, producer, and video-maker, Stefano takes us deeper into the hauntingly beautiful world he’s crafted.

What can you say about this new release?

This is a life saving song to me: the better way to fight my problems. A catharsis!

How was the recording process of the single?

All composed by myself and recorded in-box in my house! I just called a few friends to help me with the choirs and the solo!

Can you shortly describe the track for us?

Alice is the name of my alter ego in this song. Give it a name, It's the first step to face the stress!

Who or what inspires you to write songs?

First of all: HOZIER. But especially my stories and the books I read. I really enjoy creating worlds where I can escape.

Which bands inspire the sound of Witchwish?

Hozier, Neck deep, Him, Mozart.

Whom would you like to feature with? Like your dream collaboration?

HOZIER. (Did I say his name again? :D)

How is the independent and underground scene in your country?

Very difficult. If You're doing something that is not commercial You really need a lot of money to promote your music, and It's so difficult to find places to play because in Italy they really love cover bands. Every artist and friend of mine is going outside the country. They said that there are many opportunities outside!
