The Olgas, a high-energy punk rock quartet, are making waves with their raw, unfiltered sound and unapologetic political stance. Known for their simple, authentic, and humorous approach, The Olgas crash forward with bass, drums, guitar, and occasional synths—delivering a live experience held together with gaffer tape and pure adrenaline.
Fronted by Markus "Hülse" Hülstrunk (vocals, guitar, synths), alongside Christoph "Hölle" Hölz (drums), Markus Joost (guitar, technical bargain finder), and Sandra Kanowski (bass, vocals, videos), the band fuses elements of rock, (post)punk, hardcore, and even swing when the mood strikes. Their fast-paced 60-minute live shows leave audiences breathless.
Originally formed in 2017 as a trio with drummer Patrick Komor, The Olgas released two EPs and played several shows, including opening for ISVN. The momentum stalled with the lockdown, but the band emerged stronger. During the pandemic, Sandra joined as bassist and video producer, and in 2024, Chris took over drumming duties after Patrick’s illness.
Their first single with the new lineup, "We're Gonna Make It Right," was released as a defiant stand against the rise of fascism in Germany, channeling the power of Motörhead’s raw energy. In 2025, The Olgas plan to hit the studio to record their next 8-10 songs, reigniting their musical fight against authoritarianism and oppression worldwide.
"A scream against fascism and all despots on this planet. People must rise up, show solidarity, and start making things right again," says the band. And yes, the Lemmy-inspired sound is no coincidence.
