Shadito y su Banda de Peluches: A Bold Fusion of Industrial Rock, Ska, and Experimental Sounds

In 2009, after years as a co-founder and integral member of the celebrated Quito-based band RoCola Bacalao, Shadito Mendieta embarked on a solo journey with the release of Dolorfolclor, an experimental rock album that showcased a compact yet powerful sound. Now, over a decade later, this visionary artist has reignited his solo project with renewed vigor and a team of exceptional musicians who have been instrumental throughout his musical career.

Enter Shadito y su Banda de Peluches, a collective that has redefined the boundaries of music with their fearless approach to blending genres. Since their formation, the band has released three groundbreaking albums—Libre Albedrío, Inclusión Radical, and Punctus Medium. Each project captures the band’s provocative, irreverent, and ever-evolving mindset, delivering risky yet exhilarating rhythmic and conceptual fusions that explore uncharted creative possibilities.

The Peluches experience is anything but ordinary. Audiences are transported through a kaleidoscope of sensory landscapes—from lullabies to industrial metal. The live performances are a dynamic communion where music becomes a transformative journey for everyone involved.

Currently, Shadito y su Banda de Peluches is hard at work producing their upcoming album, Síndrome de Estocolmo. While fans, affectionately known as "Peluchingas," eagerly await its release, the band promises surprises. “When you least expect it, we’ll be in your city, ready to deliver an unparalleled musical experience. After all, we are all the Peluches.”
