Psychedelic punk trio, Vasoline Tuner, release new video “Chilling with my Zombie”

Southern California’s own Vasoline Tuner—known for their mind-bending fusion of psychedelic punk, experimental rock, and freak-pop—are back with a trippy new music video for their latest track, Chilling with my Zombie. Led by the ever-unpredictable Billy Tsounis (guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter), the band continues to push the boundaries of their genre-defying sound.

Fans of Vasoline Tuner know that surprise and sonic exploration are part of the band’s DNA, and Chilling with my Zombie is no exception. The song weaves hypnotic rhythms with otherworldly guitar effects, balancing an edgy immediacy with swirling, immersive textures. The main riff channels a heavy ‘70s rock vibe—think Led Zeppelin or Black Sabbath—but with a neo-psychedelic twist reminiscent of The Flaming Lips or Neutral Milk Hotel. The result? A mesmerizing collision of classic hard rock energy and ethereal, tripped-out atmospheres.

Tsounis’ vocals, drenched in slapback echo, perfectly complement the track’s hazy, garage-psych aesthetic. The accompanying music video leans into this nostalgic-yet-modern feel, layering vintage visual effects with a fresh creative edge. Nods to the ‘60s and ‘70s psychedelic era abound, yet the video maintains a unique, unpredictable quality that fits Vasoline Tuner’s boundary-pushing artistry.
