"Burnout" is the 6th track from Dystopia, debut album. This particular track shows theoiir growth as a band, evolving from a more traditional symphonic metal band, aka Nightwish, Within Temptation... to a more progressive and tense one, with complex structures and orchestration while keeping in mind a focus on melody and huge riffs, influenced by Jinjer, Arch Enemy, Gravity...


Oïkoumen is a progressive symphonic metal band founded by Elie Veux, on guitar and composition, and Laura Mazard on vocals and lyrics in 2017. Yaël Febvray joined the adventure in 2019 as a bass player and synth programmer. In 2023, it was Amaury’s turn to make his mark as a drummer.


First influenced by big names from the symphonic, neoclassical and gothic sphere such as Nigthwish, Stratovarius and Within Temptation, the band released in 2020 its first EP, Oïkoumen, in the spirit of these groups with orchestras and historical subjects with some epic vibes.


The band’s influences are varied. From film music to band music like Nightwish, Within Temptation, Jinjer, Meshuggah, System of a Down, Trivium, Arch Enemy, Joe Hisaishi, Kate Bush, Pink Floyd, Klaus Nomi...
