Orlando-based punk/hardcore trio Our Escape

Orlando-based punk/hardcore trio Our Escape is set to shake the scene once again with the release of their latest single, "Thoughts & Prey." This incendiary track serves as the first glimpse into their highly anticipated sophomore album, Who to Blame?, slated for release in early 2025.

"Thoughts & Prey" is a hard-hitting critique of the forces that fuel and profit from war, embodying the band’s signature fusion of intensity and lyrical depth. Since their formation in 2018, Our Escape—comprised of Mark Neville (drums), Zach Waite (guitar, lead vocals), and Brian Jett (bass)—has been pushing boundaries with their dynamic sound and unapologetic message.

Built on fearless experimentation, Our Escape blends catchy rhythms, heavy riffs, fuzz bass tones, and intricate snare work infused with Latin influences. Their music, layered with atmospheric guitar effects and dynamic vocals, has drawn comparisons to The Refused and Comeback Kid, while also paying homage to old-school influences like AFI and Snapcase.

Lyrically, the band oscillates between poetic storytelling and sharp societal critiques, addressing themes of ignorance, self-destructive righteousness, and systemic injustices with biting wit and an undercurrent of hope. "Thoughts & Prey" exemplifies this balance, delivering a powerful message wrapped in the trio’s explosive sound.
