Sunstead is the studio project of two multi-instrumentalists from Germany started in 2024. The first EP "shallow but dark waters" released on the 2th of August incorporates pieces of Post Metal, Blackgaze, Post Black Metal, Death Metal and atmospheric sound scenery with violins, mandolin and acoustic guitar. Sunstead is meant as a platform for experimentaion and artistic expression boiled down to the vision of only two people. The goal is to reach a broader audience for the art medium EP (and in the future album) but the projects goal (as it is now) is not a live performance.
About the band:
Germany-based studio project by two multi-instrumentalists founded in 2024. Incorporating pieces of blackgaze, post metal, post black metal and atmospheric, acoustic parts. The projects aim is to create music without the obligation of a live version. This way parts of acoustic guitar, violin, mandolin etc. can go side to side with heavy parts which is often hard to translate on a stage without the use of backing tracks. In the future Sunsteads aim is to be a creative outlet for two people and a platform for experimentation.
