Consumed By Vultures Unveils "Scissione" - A Relentless Exploration of Inner Conflict and Identity

Swiss death metal pioneers Consumed By Vultures have released their uncompromising new single, “Scissione,” a track that immerses listeners in the intense and chaotic inner conflicts of identity. “Scissione” introduces a powerful and relentless rhythm, unapologetically commanding attention as it delves into the raw experiences of an individual grappling with inner turmoil. The track is accompanied by a haunting music video, directed with an eerie precision, featuring Timoteo Costantini—the sole protagonist and band member—who embodies the struggle between light and darkness within his own soul.

The video transports viewers into an evocative dark setting, capturing the suffocating atmosphere of the protagonist’s internal battle. In this oppressive and shadowed space, Timoteo’s character is haunted by a demon—an embodiment of his darker side—who drives him to the brink. The visual narrative intensifies the song's themes, presenting “Scissione” as a visceral experience of self-confrontation.

Formed in 2013 by Alex Medici (vocals) and Mattia La Delfa (guitar, bass, drum machine), Consumed By Vultures is known for their distinctive style, which they’ve coined as “Vultures Death Metal.” Their unique sound fuses brutal death metal with slam elements, delivering a powerful sonic backdrop for the existential themes explored in their lyrics. The band's name draws inspiration from the Tibetan ritual of sky burial, symbolizing a generous final act in which the deceased are offered to vultures.

With an impressive catalog that includes their 2015 EP, “Demonstration of Negative Way,” and re-released singles like “Sky Burial” and “Natural Selection” in 2024, Consumed By Vultures continues to push thematic and sonic boundaries, blending brutal death metal with philosophical and existential depth. “Scissione” is the latest chapter in their journey, delivering a piece as relentless in sound as it is in its exploration of the human psyche.
