Amongst Liars, the powerhouse rock band known for their intense, melodic, and fierce sound, are thrilled to announce the release of their new single, "By Design." The track, which features the dynamic Swedish pop-punk artist Felin, serves as the title track for their forthcoming sophomore album, set to be released on July 4th, 2024.
"By Design" is a strong anthem of self-empowerment and resilience, capturing the essence of overcoming life's toughest challenges. The collaboration with Felin adds an extra layer of depth and authenticity, as her music also centers around themes of equality and real-life issues.
“We met Felin through our management and both loved her style and the fact that she writes and sings about equality and real-life issues, which is very much where we come from too,” the band shared. “The song 'By Design' is very much about self-empowerment and overcoming difficult situations in life, where tendencies are sometimes to shut down and by doing so hurt yourself more. The message is don’t let people dictate to you how you should act and feel, as you always have or can find the power to take control of situations.”
Amongst Liars, comprised of Ian George (vocals), Leo Burdett (guitar), Ross Towner (bass), Adam Oarton (drums), and James Brumeo (keys), have established themselves as a tight, urgent, and questioning force in modern rock. Their sound pin-balls between heavy alternative rock, grunge, and punk, featuring massive riffs, powerful melodic choruses, fuzzy guitars, and pummeling drums and bass.
Their debut self-titled album, released in July 2022, garnered critical acclaim, and the momentum continues with their forthcoming album "By Design." The previous single from the album, "The Shameful," was selected as Metal Hammer’s Track of the Week, highlighting the band's continued ascent in the rock scene.
